Barbara Farmer Obituary
Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Farmer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Lone Star Baptist Church, Hineston, Louisiana with the Revs. Rob McClain and Herman Bounds officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Baptist Church Cemetery, Hineston, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home.
Ms. Farmer, age 70 of Elmer, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in her residence.
Barbara was a native of Pineville, LA. She retired from the Town Talk after 30 years of service. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, Hineston and a member of The Woodmen of The World Lodge #1163. Barbara enjoyed buying and collecting purses and she enjoyed reading. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Ms. Farmer is preceded in death by her father, Drummond Ray; her daughters, Debbie Poole Johnson, Kimberly Diane Farmer; her grandson, Dillon Johnson; her Father-in-Law, Willard Farmer and her Mother-in-Law, Ethel Farmer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Calvin Farmer of Hineston; her daughter, Rebecca Farmer of Pineville; her grandson, Tennyson Matthew Farmer of Pineville; her mother, Ella Louise Ray of Pineville; her sisters, Sandra Tullos of Deville, Jean Gray (Bobby) of Colfax, Ginger Bye (Lloyd) of Pineville, Mary Murrel of Pineville; 8 nieces & nephews and many great nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Dale Ray, Phillip Miller, Larry Aftman, Charles Tucker, Arthur Butters and Terry Osborn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glynn Dixon & Enis Wallace.
Visitation will be at Lone Star Baptist Church, Hineston, Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. & will resume Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to express their thanks & gratitude to the friends, neighbors and kinfolks for their help during Barbara's illness. Their kindness was greatly appreciated.
