Samuel Brett Wimberly

A native of Mount Pleasant, Texas and a resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans.

He was 17 years old. An 11th grade student at Parkview Baptist School and enjoyed playing on the football team. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and was active in the Parkview Baptist Student Ministries and Youth Praise Band.

Visiting at Istrouma Baptist Church, 10500 Sam Rushing Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, Monday, February 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. until service at 9:30 a.m. conducted by Dr. Billy Stevens and Dr. Scott Thompson.

Graveside service, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 5 p.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery, Hall Summit, LA.

Survived by his parents, Rev. Collin and Gina Wimberly; paternal grandparents, Lary and Louise Wimberly; maternal grandparents, R.L. and Judy Langston; four sisters: Juliana Wimberly Handy and husband, John P. Handy II, Micah Wimberly, Hope Wimberly, and Leah Carrie Wimberly; four brothers: Daniel Wimberly, Seth Wimberly, Steven Wimberly, and Silas Wimberly. Honorary Pallbearers are Lary Wimberly, R.L. Langston, Coach Kenny Guillot, Gary Langston, R.L. Langston, Jr., and Reggie Bergeron. Pallbearers are Daniel Wimberly, John P. Handy II, Coach Shelton, Tyler Causey, Grant Markey, and Daniel Landry.
