Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ratcliff Harper will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Pineville with Drs. C. Stewart Holloway and Dan O'Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harper, 78, of Pineville, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida.
Mrs. Harper was a member of First Baptist Church, Melville, Louisiana and a former member of First Baptist Church, Pineville, Louisiana. She was a retired school teacher for Rapides Parish having taught at Bolton, Northwood, Peabody, and Pineville High Schools in Home Economics and Art. She was volunteer at Kent House and the Arbor Day Foundation and served on the Cleanest City Committee in Pineville as well as the Garden Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Ernest Ratcliff, Sr. and Elizabeth Nevius Wilday; and a sister, Elizabeth R. Stracener.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. J. Thomas Harper; daughters, Heather Hall Key and husband, Tim, and Melanie Hall Cook and husband, John; step-daughters, Robin E. Lewis, Dawn Oakley, and Windy Hinson; brothers, James E. Ratcliff, Jr. and wife, Henrietta, and Robert T. Ratcliff and wife, Elizabeth; five grandchildren, William T. Key, Michael B. Key, Katherine E. Key, Elizabeth M. Cook, and Sarah Grace Cook; six step-grandchildren, and five step-great grandchildren.
