Bertha (Betty) Emilie Scroggs

Graveside services for Bertha (Betty) Emilie Scroggs will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Alexandria National Cemetery under the direction of John Kramer & Son. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, July 7, 2012, at John Kramer & Son. A rosary will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Shirley White of Cloutierville, Louisiana will lead the recital of the Rosary.

Mrs. Scroggs, 86, of Pineville, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Betty was born in Chatelet, Belgium on February 11, 1926. She was married to Jack C. Scroggs and had five children. Betty was a manager at Dairy Queen, Walgreens, Clark Dunbar, and Charter Oak Health Foods. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, travelling, and reading. Betty's real passion was spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her sister, Jeanne Goffin, and brother, Eugene Gerard, both residents of Belgium. Children: daughter, Gladys White; son, Jack Scroggs, (Lisa Scroggs, spouse); son, Daniel Scroggs, (Alma Scroggs, spouse); and son, Marc Scroggs. Sisters-in-law: Dell Scroggs Francois (Jay Francois, spouse) and Vicie Scroggs Brown (Bob Brown, spouse); Brothers-in-law: Curtis Scroggs (Dee Scroggs, spouse); Roland Scroggs (Charlotte Scroggs, spouse); and Fred Scroggs (Bonita Scroggs, spouse). Grandchildren: Noelle Scroggs Stanley (David Stanley, spouse); Brenda White-Patin; David White (Denise White, spouse); Suzanne White; Andrew Scroggs; Daniel Scroggs Jr. (Chrissy Scroggs, spouse); Adam Scroggs (Jamie Scroggs, spouse); Marc Scroggs Jr.; and Chanda Scroggs Brossett (Danny Brossett, spouse). Great grandchildren: Milo Stanley; John Curtis Bourque, (April Bourque, spouse); Cy White; and Drake White; Lorelie Scroggs; Calvin Scroggs; Keightle Scroggs; Skylar Scroggs; Dalton Scroggs; Madeline Scroggs; and Allison Brossett. Great- great grandchild: Beckam Bourque.

She is preceded by death by her husband, Jack C. Scroggs; and son, Frank H. Scroggs.
