I just wanted to add that Donnie dated my sis and we had lunch with him not too long ago at Cathedral fish fry. Also, I loved the part in the obituary that said nobody could swing a tar mop like Carl. That made me cry more than anything. It is the beauty of the everyday that lives forever. I just wanted to remind the family that the essence of a person never dies but is eternal. Carl's spirit continues to be among us. Feel his presence when you are sad. Also, when my mama died, I almost died too. It broke my heart so badly. Then I read in a priest's book that there is no such thing as time in heaven, and so we are all together already there. Think on that. He experiences us with him now. It surely has kept me from missing Mama's physical presence so much. Again, hugs all around...and that is a lot of hugs! xo

I love me some Ducote family. My dad and Carl's dad were pals. Mr. Ducote put the roof on 1812 Levin St. Gordon was my brother Ted's best bud for years. He also dated one of my dear pals. The people you grow up with have this special place in your heart. It is a soft and sweet spot that makes you feel safe when you think of them. I was crazy about Greg and actually nuts about the whole bunch! Once I spent the night and Mrs. Ducote pulled out a side of bacon and a couple loaves of bread and three dozen eggs. I will never forget how amazed I was! It was more fun and joy than the circus. I am with you all in spirit. And I bet I could tell a true story about each one of you! Let me know if you need me. You know where to find me. I still live in your hearts. xo
