Funeral services for Robert Wayne Vaughn were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend Donald Johnson officiating.

Visitation was observed at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Vaughn, 69, of Alexandria, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Vaughn was born March 18, 1943 in Galveston, Texas and became a lifelong resident of Central Louisiana. Mr. Vaughn was a United States Navy Veteran. While in service Mr. Vaughn received his High School Diploma. Mr. Vaughn was a Licensed Journeyman Electrician and a member of the local IBEW Union. Mr. Vaughn also obtained his Aircraft and Engine Mechanics License. Mr. Vaughn owned and operated Vaughn Flying Service for 35 plus years in the Cheneyville area. Mr. Vaughn also owned and operated Bunkie Flying Service for several years. After retirement, Mr. Vaughn became a computer technician, working from his last place of residence.

Mr. Vaughn was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting with close family and friends. Mr. Vaughn was a loving father and a dedicated provider for his wife and children. Robert was our family stone.

Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his father, Henry Vaughn and mother, Bernice Chelette Vaughn; son, Robert Wayne Vaughn, Jr.; his 3 brothers, Larry Vaughn, Dennis Vaughn and Jerry Vaughn and one grandson, Avery Vaughn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dianne Myers Vaughn of Alexandria; sons, Robert W. Vaughn II and wife, Kyla of Alexandria and Leland Vaughn of Lafayette; daughters, Diane Vaughn of Poland and Heather Vaughn of Alexandria; brother, Sterling Vaughn of Cottonport; sister, Pearl Ann Fryery of Lecompte. Mr. Vaughn had 12 grandchildren as follows, Kayla Courville, Davis Courville, Dylan Courville, Amber Vaughn, Chandler Thompson, Meranda Vaughn, Chase Lemoine, Colton Elliott, Hunter Vaughn, Taylor Levasseur, Nikole Vaughn and Skylar Vaughn. And a host of family and friends from all over.

Pallbearers honored to service were Leland Vaughn, Robert W. Vaughn II, Donald Chandler, Chris Fryery, Willis Coco and Hugh Carty.
