D.Z. Boyd

Funeral services for Mr. D.Z. Boyd will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverends Ernest Huber, Mike Gates and Sister Vesta Mangun officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ball, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Boyd, age 86, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his residence.

He was a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria. He was retired from the produce business. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Carrie Boyd; son-in-law, Scooter Chevallier; two brothers, Gordon Boyd and Arnold Boyd, Sr.; one sister, Cloteal Watson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy Ratcliff Boyd of Pineville; two daughters, Wanda Jo Hyde (Bob) of Pineville, Karen Kay Chevallier of Pineville; five grandchildren, Mike Gates (Christy) of Pineville, Melissa Holland (Lance) of Pineville, Shannon Chevallier (Regina) of Deville, Becky Chevallier (George) of Deville and David Chevallier (Shannan) of Atlanta; eight great grandchildren, Kyle Gates, Jeremy Rogers, Emily Rogers, Tyler Holland, Clay Chevallier, Jessi Chevallier, Gracelyn Chevallier and Andrew Chevallier; one great great grandchild, Shea Street.

Pallbearers will be Bob Hyde, Shannon Chevallier, Bill Smith, David Chevallier, Mike Gates, Kyle Gates; honorary pallbearers will be, Rance Robertson, David Smith, Larry Conn and Dubb Conn.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
