Vivien West Cummings

Services celebrating the life of Vivien West Cummings will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Jerry Crise officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family asks that visitation be observed Monday, November 19, 2012, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 12 p.m. Tuesday until shortly before time of service.

Mrs. Cummings, 84, of Tioga, passed from this life on November 17, 2012, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

"Momou" was a devoted mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She always had a twinkle in her eye and brought much joy to others. She attended Palestine Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Merriell Exton Cummings; parents, Charles Cleveland and Jewell Louise Graham West; siblings, Cicero West, Frieda Tulley and Maxine Meyers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Randy Cummings of Tioga; daughter, Kathy Cummings Mathews and husband Charlie of Tioga; sister, Jean Salter and husband O.L. of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren, Heather Mathews, Kristi Mathews, and Lance Mathews.

Pallbearers will be Lance Mathews, David Salter, Darrell Meyers, Dave Sawyer, Melvin Vidrine, and Danny Bordelon.

Honorary pallbearers will be O.L. Salter and Cornell Bradley.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to loving caregivers and friends, Grace Lamothe and Sheila Green. Momou loved them like her own.
