Services celebrating the life of Bessie Nugent will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Holloway Baptist Church at Hickory Grove, Louisiana, with Dr. Jack West officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m at Hixson Brothers, Pineville and resume Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the church from Noon until time of service.
Bessie, 91, of Deville, passed from this life on November 19, 2012, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was a member of Holloway Baptist Church. She was a housewife and known to everyone as "Aunt Bessie". She loved the outdoors, fishing and was an avid duck hunter who always had a pan of biscuits for all the duck hunters stopping by. She also loved gardening and canning, which she shared with everyone. Always showing kindness and bringing much joy to others. Bessie was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Nugent; parents, Willie and Louella Mullens; sisters, Gracie Mullens and Elsie Gurgainers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Lucille Nugent; son, Raymond Nugent and wife Gale of Hickory Grove; daughter, Betty Amons and husband Billy of Collinston; grandchildren, Tonya Cameron and husband Michael of North Carolina; Crystal Houston and husband Sam of West Monroe; Dickie Nugent and wife Missie of Tennessee; Dean Nugent and wife Tina of Hickory Grove; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Comeaux and husband Jeremy of North Carolina; Sarah Cameron of Tennessee; Courtney Houston of West Monroe; Tres Nugent and wife Amber of Ferriday; Lacie Nugent, Lynsie Nugent and Colton Nugent all of Hickory Grove; great-great grandchildren, Hannah Nugent and Noah Comeaux.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Nugent, Dean Nugent, Tres Nugent, Colton Nugent, Douglas Nugent and Gerald Norris, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Nugent, Edward Belgard and Clyde Gurgainers.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Junie Basco and Rose Cranston for all their love and support during her lengthy illness.
