Louis D "Buddy" Fillette

A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis D Fillette will be Celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday November 7, 2012 in St. Rita Catholic Church, with Father Craig Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday November 6, 2012 and 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, with Father Dan O' Connor.

Louis D. "Buddy" Fillette, age 86, of Alexandria, passed away December 4, 2012 in Grace Home, Alexandria.

Louis is preceded in death by his wife Elaine Cecilia Gremillion of fifty- five years and their son Stephen Fillette; his sisters Becky Greaves and Eunice Mildred Zieggler, and one brother John Fillette.

Louis was born on May 6, 1926 in Alexandria La. He attended high school in Alexandria and later married his wife Elaine Cecilia Gremillion on August 17, 1947. Louis served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a career letter carrier for the US Postal Service and a Member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Louis received a commendation from the US Postal Service for saving the life of a small child while on duty. He enjoyed fishing as a pastime. Louis will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Gary Louis Fillette and wife Betty Ann of Alexandria, Carolyn Fillette Pujol and husband Chris of Cottonport, and Pamela Fillette Feazell and husband Rodney of Alexandria ; his brother Walter Fillette and wife Barbara Redding CA; his sisters Phyllis St. Romain and husband J.B. of Alexandria , Nancy Alexander and husband Harold of Grand Prairie TX, and Ruby Manis of Seattle WA and a special friend Virginia Verzwyvelt of Alexandria. Louis is also survived by his grandchildren Paula Fillette Poirrier and husband Matt of Baton Rouge, Dr. Bryan Fillette of Houston, TX, Matthew Fillette of Reston, VA, Stephen Feazell and wife Megan of Baton Rouge, Holly Feazell of Alexandria, C. Shawn Pujol of Lafayette, Paige Callegari and husband Josh of Plaucheville, Mandi Guillory and husband Derrick of Cottonport and April Pujol of Eunice and his great grandchildren Kristen Callegari, Kyle Callegari, Katherine Callegari, Lola Guillory, Tanner Guillory and Kaidance Landreneau.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, C. Shawn Pujol, Stephen Feazell, Dr. Bryan Fillette, Matthew Fillette, Glenn St. Romain and Alfred E. Cook Jr.
