A Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline C. Johnson will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church, Kolin, with Celebrant Father Joy Anthony Retnazihamoni officiating. Burial will be at Palmer Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family asks that visitation be observed Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and continue Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until shortly before the time of service. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers with Celebrant Father Joy Anthony Retnazihamoni officiating.

Mrs. Pauline, 86, of Pineville, passed from this life on December 16, 2012, at The Versailles, Alexandria.

She was a member of St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church, Kolin and a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother that will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney V. Johnson, Sr.; parents, Elevoda and Helen Veazey Choate; and a brother, Lynwood Choate of Abbeville.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rodney V. Johnson, Jr. and wife Norma of Irving, Texas, Gregory Johnson and wife Teresa of Orion, Illinois; daughter, Donna Mathews and husband Cecil of Boyce; sister Edna Bernard of Abbeville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sam Mathews, Josh Mathews, Jacob Mathews, James Verzwyvelt, Sr., James Verzwyvelt, Jr., and Kenneth Choate. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Johnson and Aaron Johnson.
