Oceana Geisel

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, in St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Interment will follow in St. Frances de Sales, Echo, with Rev. Blake Deshautelle officiating and under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 from 4 to 10 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m., at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Oceana Geisel, age 81, of Alexandria, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Grace Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents Philibert Knoll and Clementine Grantadams; her sister Felicia Juneau, her loving husband of fifty- five years Fred Geisel and one son Billy Geisel.

Oceana and her husband co-owned Fred's Sheet Metal and Roofing of Alexandria. They were both members of the VFW and Woodman of the World local organizations. Oceana's favorite pass time was playing bingo and she traveled all over to play. She also loved to play cards with all of her friends. Oceana was a French woman and was very proud of her French heritage.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Geisel Brown and husband Jerry; her son Phillip Geisel and wife Tracy; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Colton Geisel, Chassy Geisel Earl, Josh Brown, Austin Bardwell, Navin Double and Nick Slayter. Honorary pallbearers serving will be Will Slayter, Jesse Flynn and Zayne Double
