Carol "Curly" Dryden, age 72, passed away on September 7, 2013 at her home in Kolin, La after a long battle with cancer.
Carol was born in Alexandria, LA to Carroll and Josephine Cain on March 8, 1941. She was a loving sister to her eleven brothers and sisters. They include Betty Everett, Nita Williamson (Larry), Thomas (Bud) Cain (Barbara), Peggy Jean McNeely, Lloyd Paul Cain (Linda), Mary Elliott (Butch), Patricia Briggs (Mike), Margaret Ann Borrell (Tommy), John August Cain, Jerry Cain (Martha), and Ricky Cain (Kandy). She married Billie Dryden on September 8, 1956, and became a devoted wife, loving mother, and eventually a loving grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from C.L.S.H. Carol was a very talented painter and made beautiful quilts. She was gifted when it came to crafting and could do anything she set her mind to. She could always be found working in her flower beds and garden. She was able to grow anything. Carol was first a member of Air Base Road Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Sharp and later Union Baptist Church with Rev. Blaine Ussery. She was always willing to help someone in need. She touched many lives.
Carol now joins Carroll Cain (father), Josephine Cain (mother), Betty Everett (sister), Amanda Dryden (grandchild), and Dillon Roszell (great-grandchild) in heaven.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband Billie of 57 years of marriage and her four children Billie Bruner (Rick), Tammie Downs (Kenneth), Steve Dryden (Vickie), and Connie Julian (Robert). She also leaves her ten grandchildren Ricky Mcvay, Theresa Fisher (Richard), Kenny Downs (Amanda), Clinton Downs (Brandy), Kerry Downs (Christina), Brandi Wells, Alicia Roszell (LaDale), Felicia Cloud (Chris), and Mason Julian. In addition to these, her adopted grandchildren, Seth Morace (Hannah) and Elvin Frank (Jennifer), who always held a special place in her heart. She also leaves her 20 great-grandchildren.
