Rodney Masterson Obituary
Services for Rodney G. Masterson Jr. will be private.
Mr. Rodney G. Masterson Jr., 68, of Baton Rouge passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Masterson, Jr. was a graduate of Menard High School and LSU, served in the U.S. Marines, Vietnam Veteran, member of VFW, and the Screen Actors Guild.
Mr. Masterson, Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Rodney G. Masterson, Sr.; mother, Elizabeth F. Masterson; and brother Paul F. Masterson.
Survivors include, brothers, Michael Masterson, of Thibodaux, and John L. Masterson, of Alexandria; sister, Mary Elizabeth Masterson, of Hendersonvillie, Tennessee; two nieces, Sarah Masterson, of Key Largo, Florida, and Catherine M. Morvant, of Thibodaux; nephew, Justin Medica, of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Memorial donations should be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

A name that is said is not forgotten. So it is with you old friend. I know you chuckle as you did watching our day to day frustrations , exasperations and moments of joy.
I am sure you smile and whisper "live the moment it ends too soon".

I did yoga with Rod many years ago for about 14 years. We were able to keep in touch through the years. He was a dear friend. I will miss him.

I have know Rod since the early 70's when I was a grad assistant at LSU. He taught me about weight training. He was an excellent Yoga teacher. He was a good person.

Rod, I don't have words to express the sorrow for the loss of a life long friend. Your laughter and memory are with me always. I know you are now at peace. I hope you Mike, and Van are now all together and sharing good times again for eternity. God Bless You and Paul.

I didn't know Mr. Masterson. Was he the actor on the film ''Deep Heat''? It says he was a SAG member. Condolences to his family.
