Funeral Services celebrating the life of Porter P. Ball will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at The Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Shane David and Mr. Ron Slay officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Fishville.

The family asks that visitation be observed Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resume at from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Porter, 86, of Ball, passed from this life on Friday, October 18, 2013 at his residence.

He attended Kingsville Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

Porter proudly served our country in the United States Navy South Pacific campaigns during World War II. He was a graduate of Pollock High School and retired from Texas Gas. Porter was very musically talented and loved to share it by playing for nursing home residents. His passions were hunting and fishing..

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joy Sue Ball; granddaughter, Stephanie Ball; parents, Theodore and Mary Hudson Ball, Sr. and brothers, Theodore Buckley Ball and Samuel Nelson Ball.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Doris H. Ball; sons, Leon Ball and wife, Viola, Steven Ball; daughters, Glenda Clark and husband, Earl, Dannette Slay and husband Ronnie; sisters, Florise Ball and Irise Armstrong; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be his grandsons.
