Services for Mr. Ferrell H. "Dutch" Floyd will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverends Gary Richerson and James Greer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Floyd, 90, of Pineville passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of Journey Church and former member of Trinity Baptist Church. During his working life he was an insurance salesman at Central State Life Insurance Company. Mr. Floyd was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp., and member of Ducks Unlimited, and an avid fisherman and hunter at his camp at Open Bayou on Saline Lake, making many memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel David and Della Floyd; brothers, Clabe L. Floyd, Marcus Floyd and his wife, Faye; and Walter D. Floyd and his wife, Choc and their son, David; and daughter-in-law, Lorita Maillet Floyd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Louise McBride Floyd; sons, Donnie Floyd and wife, Pam; Terry Floyd and fiancé, Donna; daughter, Pamela Richerson and husband, Gary; ten grandchildren, Ashley Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Kellie Floyd-Smith, Michael Floyd, Jessica Floyd, Justin Floyd, Megan Miller, Tiffany Hennesey, Lauren Slaughter, and Lewis Richerson; eleven great grandchildren, Micah Floyd-White, Taylor Floyd, Connor Floyd, Eastyn Miller, Bensyn Miller, Dalton Richerson, Carlie Richerson, Anna Richerson, David Richerson, Dylan Hennesey and Trent Hennesey; sister-in-law, Vernalea Floyd; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Richerson, Michael Floyd, Justin Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Larry Floyd, Chris Floyd and Dalton Richerson.
