Rufus Dunn Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Rufus "Andy" Andrew Dunn, Jr. will be held at 10:30 A.m., Monday, December 15, 2014, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Tioga. Father Rick Gremillion, the Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be the Officiant of the funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
Visitation will be observed at the funeral home on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Tim Waldron, Justin Waldron, Sr., Bryan Waldron, Sr., Braxton Philyaw, Hunter Philyaw and Chris Isaac. Honorary pallbearer is his brother-in-law, Lester Wayne Paul.
Rufus "Andy" Andrew Dunn, Jr, 82, of Pineville, passed from this life on December 11, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Andy proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #3 for over 40 years and had served as the Post Commander. During his working life he worked for and retired from Holsum Bakery.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was an avid sportsman, enjoying all sports. Andy was a loving husband, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all.
Those that precede him in death are his parents, Rufus Andrew, Sr. and Florence Van Gossen Dunn; brothers, James Dunn and Francis Dunn; sisters, Cecilia Vincent and Patricia Clark.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Marion Waldron Dunn; step-sons, Joey Waldron, Robert Waldron, Sr. (Tanya) and Bobby Waldron; grandchildren, Robert "Tim" Waldron, Jr. (Jessica), Justin Waldron, Sr. (Samantha), Bryan Waldron, Sr. ( Lacie), Braxton, Hunter and Dawson Philyaw; great grandchildren, Brianna, Anthony, Layla and Andy Waldron and a host of other family members and friends.
