Glen Edward Price, 82, of Alligator Point, Florida, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ann Price.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee with assignments in Cuba and North Africa. Following his discharge, using the G.I. Bill, he entered Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Okla. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and was in the first class to graduate from Oklahoma State University. He was employed by the Bureau of Public Road (BPR) and entered the training program for the construction of the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System. He and his wife moved frequently for several years before being assigned to the Texas Division Office in Austin, Texas. The BPR was reorganized and became the Federal Highway Administration. He earned a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. He was then transferred to Atlanta, where he completed his career as Regional Research and Development Engineer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee FL 32308-5428.

Interment was held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. A memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Mission By the Sea on Alligator Point.

Besides his wife, he is also survived by his children, James, Glenda, Patricia and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica.

Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel, Crawfordville, is assisting with arrangements.
