Alma Barnes 85, died peacefully, at home on Monday, June 18, 2018.

She was born February 8, 1933, in Monticello to Andrew James Miller and Johnnie B. Miller, she had 8 siblings. She graduated from Jefferson County High School. She was married to Alvin O. Branch, September 18, 1953, in Monticello. Alvin and Alma had six kids together: Alvin "Sonny" Branch, Rita Asbel, Andrew "Andy" Branch, Jeanine Sanders, Ernest "Ernie" Branch, Johnna Branch. Alma was widowed in 1975, she later married Jett Barnes in Tallahassee, in 1981. With Jett Barnes she had three step kids, Frankie Barnes, Linda Corley and Cindy Mitchum. She was blessed with 14 grandkids, 25 great grandkids and two great-great grandkids.

Alma worked at the Sing Store on Crawfordville Hwy and Capital Circle for 19 years.

Alma truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; gardening, crocheting, reading, and visiting with friends and family. Alma had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew James Miller and Johnnie B. Miller; siblings: Gene Miller, Buddy Miller, Libby Dunsford, Johnnie Smith and Lorine Walker; And her two husbands Alvin Branch and Jett Barnes; son, Alvin Sonny Branch; great grandchild Sammie Arlington; and step daughter, Cindy Mitchum.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Saturday, June 23, 2018 with burial at Woodville Cemetery.
