Nellie Jean Mathers Evans, 75, of Sopchoppy, died at her home, Friday, July 28, 2017.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Wakulla County. She retired after working over 20 years with the Florida Department of Children and Family Services. Jean loved crafts and always provided flowers for her church.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Norman Carlton Evans; two sons, Roel Kok and Thomas Fulford; one daughter, Tamara Jackson (Dell); four step-children, Eddie Evans, Floyd Evans, Melinda Lott (Mike) and Bertha Gray (Glen); one brother, Herman Mathers (Gayle); and seven grandchildren, Holden, Roth, Random, Kelsey, Hunter, Trinity and Gabe.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Beasor Baptist Church in Sopchoppy. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
