Nicholas Alexander Carson (Nick) 26 of Crawfordville, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Tallahassee, from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born in Huntington, W.Va. on March 23, 1992. The son of Joe and Debi Morgan of Crawfordville.

Nick was a 2010 graduate of Wakulla High School. After high school Nick joined the U.S. Army and graduated basic training and airborne school in Fort Benning, Ga. He was then assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C. In February 2012 he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He currently was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 507th PIR, Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning as a Basic Airborne Instructor. During his military career the many awards and schools he completed were Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, five Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Jumpmaster School, Repel Masters Course, Basic Leader Course, Combatives Level 1 and 2, and Airborne School.

Although he received many awards throughout his military career, his greatest achievement was his son, Jackson Alexander Carson. Whether in Hawaii, at softball games, or a duck blind, you would find Jackson right by his side. Nick aspired to instill the same core values in his son that his dad instilled in him. His legacy will live on in Jackson.

Nick touched many lives and leaves behind many friends and battle buddies that will always feel his presence. He was survived by his parents, Joe and Debi Morgan of Crawfordville; wife, Shelby Burris of Tallahassee; and his son, Jackson Alexander Carson of Tallahassee; his brother, Justin Stephens (Lauren) of Huntingtown, Mass.; sister, Aimee Moon (Richard) of Crawfordville; brother Brandon Carson of Oahu, Hawaii; sister, Cynthia Carson and brother Chris Carson of Huntington, W.Va.
