Richard Wayne Nicholson, 63, of Sopchoppy, passed away on June 4, 2013 after a long illness. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a contractor and held a Florida registered contractor license, as well as a certified home inspector license.
He was a family man and treasured the moments he spent with his family. Before his illness with cancer, he loved the outdoors as he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going camping and spending time with his family. He leaves behind special memories with the woodworking projects he had so much enjoyed making for his family and friends.
He was born to Mary Nicholson and the late Elex Z. Nicholson on Sept. 15, 1949. He will forever be remembered by his devoted wife, Hannah Harrell; his three children, Tracy (Mark) Locke of Houston, Brett Nicholson of Houston, and Megan Nicholson of Tallahassee; and three step-children, Rita Sadler (Chris), Lola Pouncey, and Jimmie Harrell (Lenae) of Crawfordville; his brother, Raymond Lee Nicholson (Mary) of Athens Texas; and his treasured grandchildren, Libbie Stroud, Jessica Martin, Justin Harrell, Tyler Pouncey, Jennifer Sadler, Dayton Sadler; and two great grandchildren, Madison Martin and Holden Stroud.
Family received on friends Friday, June 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home Harvey Young Chapel in Crawfordville. Services were held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Panacea Full Gospel Assembly Church at 11 a.m. Burial followed at Bonnett Pond Cemetery.
