Valda C. Cook, 91, of Crawfordville, died January 26, 2018. She was born July 17, 1926 in Tallahassee, Florida to her parents Phil & Mildred Carraway. She was a lifetime resident of Wakulla County. She graduated Crawfordville High School, married Sanford Cook August 17, 1947 and worked with E.C. Allen, Mobile Home Industries, where she was the Secretary of the Board. She went on to work with the State of Florida as an Administrative Assistant to U.S. Congressman Bill Grant, Florida Senator Pat Thomas, Florida Senator Michael Bennett and for many years with the State Legislature, until the age of 86. She was a lifetime member of Crawfordville First Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 25 years and 60 plus years in the Choir. She was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class and loved every minute of it. Valda is now with her Savior Jesus Christ and catching up with her loved ones, husband Sanford Cook, parents Phil & Mildred Carraway, sisters Aletha Lawhon, Norma Clarke & Evelyn Gowdy and brother Reginald Carraway.

She is survived by her son Dusty Cook (Becky), 3 grandsons Daryl Cook (Sallie), Doyle Cook (Saleeta) & Drew Cook (Lois), 6 great grandchildren Taylor, Hunter, Charlie Sue, Elijah, Easton & Emerson, brother-in-law Gilbert Gowdy and many nieces & nephews.

Family will receive friends Sunday, January 28, 2018, 5:00-7:00 pm at the Crawfordville First Baptist Church. Funeral will be Monday, January 29, 2018, 11:00 am at the Crawfordville First Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Crawfordville Cemetery.
