Elmer Burket "Bud" Naylor, 65, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, peacefully at home in Santa Ana, Calif. He was the beloved husband of Maria Naylor.
He was born 1947 in Westerly, R.I., the eldest son of the late Rev. Elmer Burket Naylor Jr. and Edith (Hughes) Naylor. Bud was raised in Hope Valley, R.I., and had resided in Santa Ana for the last 20 years.
He leaves behind two daughters, Estrella and Esmeralda; two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to whom he was a father figure. He is survived by seven sisters: Beverly Naylor Brister of Lakewood, N.J.; Marjorie Naylor Rekowski and Hazel Naylor Douthitt, both of Hope Valley; Lorraine Naylor Ryan and Virginia F. Schnaitter, both of Sarasota, Fla., Deborah Naylor Farhar of Okeene, Okla., and Cathee Naylor Presley of Mandeville, La., and two brothers, Ralph of Hope Valley and Richard of Bettendorf, Iowa.
Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
as a radioman. He had recently been attending Santa Ana College to become more proficient in his computer skills. He was a member of the Crystal Cathedral Church.
His service was held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Family Mortuary in Santa Ana.
