William ""Fig"" Figueroa

William "Fig" Figueroa, 60, of Providence, was taken into the arms of our savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
He was born in Astoria, NY and enlisted in the Navy in 1971, serving two terms, one of which was aboard the USS Independence during the Vietnam War.
He lived a number of years in Westerly and Carolina, R.I. He was a foreman at Imperial Wallpaper and later worked at BDA. William was a valued member of Blessings of the Highest Church in Providence. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping with his family, fishing, gardening and BBQ'ing. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing. His love of music was unsurpassed.
William is survived by daughters, Julia "J.J." Figueroa Burns, Rachel Lawrence, Norma Skersey and Nancy Hindle, as well as 8 grandchildren, sisters, Ana, Alice, Norma, Millie, and brother, Miguel. He was predeceased by his father Ramone; his beloved mother, Alejandrina F. Figueroa; and siblings Jose, Carlos and Evelyn.
