Fernando Carreira Obituary
Born in Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Rosaria Carreira.
Fernando was a Mason for Tilcon Tomasso until the mid 90's. He was a communicant of St. James Chapel, a member of the Cranston Portuguese Gun Club and a former member of the Hartford Portuguese Club. Fernando loved to garden and spend time with his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Alice M. Hickey and her husband Jay of Granby, CT; his sister, Maria R. Silva of Wethersfield, CT; two grandchildren, Ashley and John Patrick Hickey, both of Granby, CT and two nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 7 Church St., Bradford, RI on Thursday at 10am. Burial will be private.
In addition, there will be visiting hours offered on Saturday from 5-7pm at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT, with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906, in Fernando's memory.
