Irving L. Perrin, 82, of Lake Court, Ashaway, died peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at The Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Josefine (Dallapozza) Perrin.
Born in Mystic on Oct.10, 1930, he was the son of the late Irving E. and Helen (Martin) Perrin.
Mr. Perrin worked at the Ashaway Line and Twine in Ashaway for many years before retiring.
Mr. Perrin served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He loved working in his garden and enjoyed golfing, fishing and feeding his birds around his home. He was an avid baseball fan and a member of the Ashaway Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he will be sadly missed by his children; Jean M. Kennedy and her husband, Gary, of Indiana; Barbara A. Sullivan, of Ashaway; John Perrin and his wife, Charlotte, of Westerly; Kathy L. Gouvin, of Hope Valley; and David E. Perrin, Sr., of Ashaway. He was the brother of Donald Greene, of Ashaway; Jean Byrer, of Ashaway; and Helen Clark, of Maine. He also was the loving grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of six.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Burial with full military honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Ashaway.
