Michael F. Vocatura, of Boy Scout Drive in Westerly, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2013, at the age of 95. He was the beloved husband of Hattie (Jahn) Vocatura for 55 years.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Frank and Immaculata Vocatura. Mike was the longtime owner of Vocatura's Bakery in Norwich which he has proudly run with his family for over six decades. He would routinely make the early 3:30 a.m. trek from Westerly to Norwich and report to work into his early 90s. Mr. Vocatura was a well-known and upstanding member of both the Westerly and Norwich communities.
He was a lifelong communicant of The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westerly as well as a life member of both the Westerly Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. No. 678 and the Calabrese Society. Mike faithfully served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of the Amancio-Falcone-Gaccione VFW Post No. 8955 in Westerly
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and members of his extended family. He will be sadly missed by the loving family dog, Toby. Mike was predeceased by his five brothers; Louis, Anthony, Joseph, John and Vincent; and his two sisters; Christine Mandela and Carmella Chiaradio.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 111 High St., Westerly, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery in Westerly. Visiting hours are omitted.
