Robert Mitchell, Sr. Obituary
Bob was born in Mystic to the late Irving and Marjorie Mitchell. He served in the US Navy for 8 years and then worked as a Technical Aide for Electric Boat for 37 years. He was a former member of the Westerly BPOE, a past Master of the Pawcatuck Masonic Lodge, and a past Captain and life member of the Pawcatuck Fire Department. Robert also volunteered at the Pawcatuck Little League.
He also leaves behind his sons, Robert, Jr. and Steven, both of Pawcatuck, David of Westerly, and Walter of Voluntown; a daughter, Leona Beaty of NC; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Michael Mitchell.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 1-3pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Funeral service and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. For online condolences, please go to www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com

Bertha and Kids,
Some of my best memories of Bob and his Family, are of our Trips to Gunstock with the Thibdeaus and Camping.
Wally making Coffee, the Kids keeping the Fire going, days on end, burning any piece of wood they could find.
The night we went to Dinner, and Bob ordered "Steak for Two', the waitress started to leave, and you said, "what about my order?" She said, Well He ordered Steak for Two! And You said "Well look at Him. Thats for Him" It was one of many great times with the Roses and the Mitchells.
We will miss Him.
