William Walter Price, 90, of Weekapaug died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the Watch Hill Care and Rehab.

Born on Sept. 28, 1916, to Walter S. and Helen (Segar) Price, he was raised in Westerly and summered in Weekapaug.
A 1934 graduate of Westerly High School, he graduated from Amherst College in 1938. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard serving four years as a lieutenant junior grade during World War II stationed in Boston and Newport.
His career was in the insurance field working for Aetna Insurance Company while residing in Wellesley, Mass. and Barrington. He returned to Westerly in 1968 when he purchased Coy Real Estate and Insurance Co., which he operated for many years.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and William Lester of Weekapaug, Nancy and Robert Olson of New Haven, Conn., and Joan and George Weir of Newfane, Vt.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Cinnamond Price and his sister, Anne Price Earle.
He was an avid sailor, cruising the New England waters, enjoyed tennis and skiing and loved to travel. He served his community in many ways through involvement in civic organizations such as the Westerly Historical Society, Central Baptist Church and Boy Scouts of America.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westerly Public Library, 44 Broad St., Westerly, RI 02891.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Central Baptist Church, 16 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will be private in River Bend Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.
