Brenda (Bedgood) Harris, 48, of Lewis Lane, Westerly, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. She was the wife of the late Michael Harris. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Ralph L. and Kathryn Bedgood. Brenda worked as a CNA for G. Pierce Woods Hospital for many years. She also did a great deal of volunteer work in the area, including the Family Christian Center. She will be sadly missed by her children, Michael Harris Jr., Christopher Hardison, Daniel Hardison, David Hardison, Isaiah Harris, Samantha Harris and Britnee Harris, all of Westerly, LaQuetta Dedmon and her husband, Arnold, of Kentucky, and Tiffany Harris, of Baltimore, Md. She is also survived by two brothers, Dennis Bedgood, of Tulsa, Okla., and Mark Mullins, of Birmingham, Ala.; six sisters, Diane Bedgood, of Bath, S.C., Kim Bedgood, Sandra Bedgood and Elaine Buck, all of Westerly, Bonnie Stephens, of Pawcatuck, and Kelly Peckham, of Tennessee, as well as five grandchildren. Brenda was predeceased by a sister, Tammy Chan. Visiting hours will be held today, Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A funeral service will take place at the Family Christian Center, 67 Prospect St., Pawcatuck on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in First Hopkinton Cemetery, Hopkinton.
