Donald L. Dotolo, of High Street, Westerly, passed away suddenly on June 14, 2012, at home.
Donnie was born in Westerly, the son of the late Alfred and Nancy Dotolo. He is survived by his sister, Maribeth Dotolo.
Don was the owner of Double D's painting and was well-recognized around town in his white van.
Don was most proud of his military service. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on Aug. 31, 1965. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 and was honorably discharged from the USMC in June 1969.
Don's tours of duty included Chu Lai, Tam Ky, Da Nang, Saigon, Hill 54, Ho Chi Minh Trail and QuonNai. Don was the recipient of the Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Commemorative, US Vietnam Service Medal and the Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal.
Funeral services with full military honors will be private. Donations in Don's memory may be made to the "Wounded Warrior Project" at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or by calling 877-832-6997.
