Ida May (Ravenelle) Allyn, 79, lifelong resident of Mystic and beloved wife of 61 years to Walter L. Allyn passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at home.
Born in Mystic, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Anna (Gaynor) Ravenelle.
Ida was a former President of Lauren Jo Inc. and was co-owner of several large commercial fishing vessels. She was an avid boater who deeply loved the salt water air and truly enjoyed gardening. Ida was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, David Allyn and his wife, Donna, of Mystic; four grandchildren, Lauren, Irv, Paul & Katie Allyn; and a great-grandson, James Michael. She was predeceased by a son, James J. Allyn in 2002.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 12th from 5-8 pm at the Mystic Funeral Home Route 1 Mystic. A service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery Route 27 Mystic.
