Jane B. (Harris) Gest, 88, of Mystic, Conn., passed away peacefully on July 24, 2012.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and formerly of Ithaca, N.Y. and Weekapaug, R.I., Jane was the daughter of the late George and Gretchen Breckwoldt.
She attended Connecticut College and generously volunteered countless hours to many organizations throughout her lifetime.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, her brother Frederick, and husbands Maurice "Monty" Harris and Donald A. Gest. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Laurie) Harris of Endicott, NY., and Christine Harris Delph; her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Megan, Jordan and Mackenzie, whom she loved dearly; her sisters, Ruth (Fraley), Marie (Bent), Ann (Walker) and sister-in-law Abbi (Breckwoldt) and their families.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Jane's memory can be made to Westerly Hospital Auxiliary, Scholarship Fund, Attn: Nick Stahl, 25 Wells St., Westerly, R.I. 02891.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, R.I.
