Jesus called Joseph John Capalbo home on September 30, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Acri, Italy, the son of the late Cosmo D. and Maria Capalbo. He is survived by his loving wife, Danette (Evans) Capalbo; his children, Joseph J. Capalbo, Dea Turano, Joseph (Kristin) Capalbo, Maurice (Lisa) Curry and Kimberlee Brancato; his grandchildren, Britni, Dea and Jordan Turano, Mariah and Jasmine Curry, and Joseph and Kalie Brancato as well as a great grandson, Mason Michael. He is also survived by four brothers, Pasquale, Frank, Salvatore and Anthony Capalbo; his seven sisters, Assunta Sposato, Annunziata Morrone of Italy, Yolanda Pagliusi, Sandra Dodge, Rose Muntimuri, Carmela Anderson and Margaret Turner; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was a Master Plumber who owned Capalbo and Drake Plumbing, with the late Leon Drake. He later worked at the George C. Moore Company until his retirement. Joe was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, making soupy and wine with his dear friends Arthur Falcone and Stephen Scott and sharing his love of gardening with everyone.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High Street, Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home. Burial will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
