Patrick J. Regan Sr., "Joe," 82, of White Rock Road, Westerly, passed away on Monday afternoon, May 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the Connecticut Hospice of Branford, Conn.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth E. (Lynch) Regan, of Westerly; his son, Patrick J. Regan Jr. and his wife, Jo-Ann (Sipala), of Westerly; his son, Thomas M. Regan Sr. and his wife, Ellen (Narciso), of Westerly; his grandsons, Shaun P. Regan and Thomas M. Regan Jr. and his wife Mary, of Westerly; two great-grandchildren, Priety and William; and Kathleen (McCarthy) Feld who is a special member of the family; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Regan was born in Providence on March 2, 1931, the son of the late Patrick J. and Ellen (Gill) Regan. He served three years in the U.S. Army as a surgical technician during the Korean War. Joe worked for the George C. Moore Company of Westerly and was a frame operator for Collins and Aikman/Imperial Wallpaper for 50 years. He was a frequent volunteer at The Westerly Hospital for many years and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed his time with his family gathered around the dinner table. Joe's greatest joy was his two grandsons.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. There will be no procession from the funeral home.
Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery, Pawcatuck. Calling hours will take place on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship St., Westerly. For online condolences, please go to
