Ruth E. (Tillinghast) Perkins, 87, of Cottage St., Westerly, R.I., died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Westerly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Harry B. Perkins.

Born in North Stonington, CT on Dec. 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank B. Tillinghast and Louise (Maine) Tillinghast.
Ruth worked at the Ashaway Line and Twine for many years before retiring. She loved crocheting doilies.
Besides her husband she will be sadly missed by her children; George Geer and his wife Pam of Oregon, Gloria Latta and her husband Thomas of Westerly, R.I., Benjamin Geer of Pawcatuck, CT and Hattie Lewis and her husband Paul of Westerly, R.I. She also leaves a step daughter; Beatrice Brophy of Westerly and her brother James Tillinghast of North Stonington, CT. She was the grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Mary and James Geer.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, at Noon, in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, R.I., a calling hour will precede the service from 11-12. Burial will be private in Union Cemetery, North Stonington, CT.
