Mystic – Anne Lanier (Henry) McDonald, widow of Capt. Robert R. (Bob) McDonald USN (Ret.), passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at home in Mystic.

Anne was born in New York City May 18, 1941, the daughter of Margot and George Henry. She graduated from La Chatelaine School, Gstaad, Switzerland. Passionate about the ocean, she became an accomplished fishing guide working for several years on charters out of Pompano Beach and Ft. Myers, Fla. Treasured memories of that time included fishing with both Ted Williams and Julius Boros.

She moved to Misquamicut, R.I. in the late 1970s and became the manager of the Mystic Seaport Book Store. She later married her beloved Bob and moved to Mystic. She retired from the Book Store in 1994. Anne was a devoted golfer and a collector or art and antiques. Anne is survived by her sisters, Marlee, Brooke, and Katie; and two generations of loving nieces and nephews.
