Angelo "Blondie" M. Gabrielle, 84, of Plateau Road, Westerly, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2013, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Theresa A. (Sacco) Gabrielle, of Westerly; and his daughters, Sheree Gabrielle Antoch, of Westerly; Holly J. and son-in-law Ricky A. Magowan, of Westerly.

Angelo was born in Westerly on Dec. 2, 1928, the son of the late Fred Sr. and Mary (Falcone) Gabrielle. He was a corporal in the U.S Army, serving proudly as a tank commander during the Korean War. Mr. Gabrielle was a clerk for Electric Boat in Groton, and worked at the American Velvet Mill in Stonington. He was a funeral service associate at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory of Westerly, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Amancio-Falcone-Gaccione Post No. 8955 Westerly Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as an avid golfer and a communicant at Immaculate Conception Church.
He is also survived by three grandchildren; Christopher Antoch and his wife AnnaMaria; Gabrielle Magowan Richards and her husband Keith Richards; Gigi Magowan; a great granddaughter, Sophia Antoch; three brothers, Dr. Fred Gabrielle Jr.; Albert Gabrielle; and Richard Gabrielle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Mr. Gabrielle was predeceased by a brother Joseph R. Gabrielle.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. Burial will be private.
