Lena M. Leonetti, wife of the late Ernest Leonetti, to whom she was married for 55 years, passed away at home, on June 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Westerly she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Rosaria Capizzano.
Lena was employed for many years as a weaver for the George C. Moore Company and previously had been employed by Hamilton Standard during the war. She was a long time communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church who loved to crochet and spend time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. Lena was also a life member and past president for 14 years of the Amancio, Falcone and Gaccione VFW Aux. #8955. Mrs. Leonetti was also a member and past president of the Calabrese Aux. as well as the Westerly Senior Center and AARP. She was also a member of the National Committee to preserve Social Security and Medicare.
She leaves her loving daughter Rosa Frazier and her husband Robert Frazier Sr., of Westerly. In addition, she leaves three grandsons, Robert Frazier Jr. and his wife Marge of West Greenwich, Richard Frazier and his wife Yolanda of Westerly and Rodney Frazier and his wife Linda of Temecula, CA. She also leaves eight great grandchildren Magen and Roshane Frazier of West Greenwich, Jennifer, Rachel and Amy Frazier of Westerly, Jacob, Mari and Blake Frazier of Temecula. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret Pariseau of Westerly and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers Santo, James, Frank and Dominic Capizzano and three sisters Virginia Johnson, Nancy Vincent and Rose Gray.
Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Thursday, 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Immaculate Conception, Friday, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
