Holdren, Barbara Jean  
Holdren Barbara Jean Holdren, age 74, left to be with the Lord Saturday, January 24, 2015. Barbara was born May 12, 1940 to the late Victor and Leona Syler. She was a longtime member of Parsons Ave. Church of God. She is preceded in death by sisters Joanna McCullough, Janice Shemo, Beverly McAvoy, Carol VanSickle, Sylvia Arletta Syler. Barbara is survived by sisters, Rosella Chesnut of Louisville, Oh., Sharon Spencer of Sparta, Wi., Linda Texter of Canton, Oh.; grandsons, Chris and Matthew Stepp, including very special friends, Chris and Myrtle Stepp. Barbara's visitation Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Parsons Ave. Church of God, 3389 Parsons Avenue, 4-8 p.m. Service Friday, January 30 at 11 a.m. Officiating Pastor Brice Utt. Houston, Robert J.  
Houston Dr. Robert J. Houston, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 21, 2015. Robert was born in 1931 in Garner, North Carolina. He attended Davidson College before enlisting in the army and serving in the Korean War. When he returned, he completed his education and training at the Southern College of Optometry. A longtime resident of Columbus Ohio, Robert owned his own contact lens company, Argus Labs, and later worked as a self-employed optometrist. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, researching genealogy, reading, and vacationing on Topsail Island, North Carolina. Robert recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Ev. He also leaves behind his three children, Ann Nikolai, Lori, and Ben; his daughters-in-law, Ellen and Michelle; and his grandson, Cameron Robert; as well as Mia, the family therapy dog. The funeral is being held at Saint John's Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church at 5858 Cleveland Avenue. The visitation is on Tuesday, January 27 from 5-7 p.m., followed by the Parastas. The funeral service is on Wednesday, January 28 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. John's Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church or the Salvation Army. RODMAN-SNYDER MEMORIAL CENTER, Columbus, Ohio is honored to serve Robert's family.

Hoyeler, Ruth V.  
Hoyeler Ruth V. Hoyeler, age 92, of Columbus, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at St. Ann's Hospital. Ruth was born in Shadyside, OH on April 15, 1922 to Everett and Mary (Jeffers) Crawford. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Wilbur, sister Emma. Ruth is survived by beloved son, Gregory Hoyeler of St. Augustine, FL; sister, Margery Spence of Columbus, OH; family friend, Paul A Knez of Palos Heights, IL. Ruth was a longtime member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church of Columbus, OH. She will be remembered fondly by many special friends. At Ruth's request, no services will be held. Huff, Donna Gean  
Huff Donna Gean Huff, 82, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born July 12, 1932 in Columbus, daughter of the late Oscar Dean and Nellie Vesta Laviers Needles. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband Carroll "Bill" Huff, sister Irene Allen, brother Don Needles, nephews Donnie and David, nieces Marcella, Linda and Patty. She was a graduate of North High School and Otterbein College. Donna retired from DSCC with 39 years of service and was inducted into DSCC Hall of Fame. While she was devoted to her work, she often said she filed her brain at five. For fun she crocheted baby blankets and researched family genealogy. She was a lifetime member of the Ohio Eastern Star. Donna was also a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine (L.O.S.) for 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Carol "C.J." Huff and Maria Huff; brother, Nelson (Judy) Needles; special sister-in-law, Janet Huff; nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Sharol, Holly, Kevin, Patty, Heather, Bobby, Ricky, Judy, Paul, Lilah, Ray, Chris, Sue, Gayla, David, Janet, Nancy, Hillary, Robert, Michelle, David and many special cousins and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, with a L.O.S. service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fancher Cemetery. Huffman Velma Ruth Huffman, age 83, formerly of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Doctors West Hospital with her family by her side. Preceded in death by her loving husband Robert 1988, four sisters and three brothers. Survived by children, Steve (Angie) Huffman, Karen Huffman, Robert (Linda) Huffman, James (Darlene) Huffman, William (Tonia) Huffman, Glenda (John) Collins, Annettia (Dave) Holstein and Ruth (Ray) Mann; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, numerous relatives and a host of friends. Huston Hilda Huston, age 95, of Columbus, went Home to be with her Lord on January 22, 2015. Longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Columbus.
