Anthony Vincenzo Galilei

Galilei Anthony Vincenzo Galilei was born August 23, 1928. Known to family and friends as "Tony," he passed away peacefully on September 9, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Laura Galilei, of 63 years; sister, Rose Mason; his daughters, Toni "Bunny" (Gary) Stimmel, Kathy Galilei, Joy (John) Brooks; his seven grandchildren, John(ny) Brooks, Leigh Kuhn, Joanna Kray, Jennifer Rasar, Kelli Jackson, Jennifer Rasar, Gary Stimmel, Jacob Stimmel and their spouses; and 16 great-grandchildren; and his nephews, Ralph and Jim Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents Vincezo "Jim" and Caterina "Tina" Galilei, and sisters Dora Camboni and Josephine Hatch. He retired after 33 years of service at General Motors, and went on to assist his sister at Dot's Coffee Shop for many years thereafter. He loved horse racing; owning and racing thoroughbreds for many years, sports, and reading the paper each morning, but most of all he loved his family. To know him was to love him, and his generosity was felt by all who crossed his path. Family and friends are asked to gather for his funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 893 Hamlet St. Columbus.
