Carmel E. Capoccia

Capoccia Carmel E. Capoccia, age 89, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. Carmel was born and raised in Columbus, daughter of the late Guy and Maria Volpi. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony "Tony" Capoccia, and brother Louis Volpi. Carmel worked as both a dental assistant and a personnel manager for J.W. Watson. She was truly a caring, elegant and loving woman who always put family first. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection and enjoyed traveling, especially cruising. Because she had such a tremendous love for her family and friends, Carmel will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Terry Sr.) Counts; son, Anthony P. (Katherine) Capoccia; grandchildren, Terry (Lisa) Counts, Elizabeth (Tom) Bullen, Christopher (Ginny) Capoccia, Amy (Jay) Whitney, Anna (John) Moscatiello, Sarah (Nick) Pazzaglia, Daniel (Katie) Capoccia, Matthew (Maryann) Capoccia, David (Ema) Capoccia, Rebecca (Todd) Stern; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Kieran, Sadie, Juliette and Gemma; sisters, Alice (Charles) Keller, Rosemary Baker-Boyd, and Josephine Britt; brother, Vincent (Patsy) Volpi; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany. Family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Private entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
