Charles W. Voss

Voss Charles W. Voss. Born 1928, age 85. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Passed away peacefully on December 26, 2013, surrounded by family at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Fla. Graduated from Central High School, Columbus, Ohio. Prior to entering the Armed Forces, Charley played baseball in North Carolina as a pitcher for the Tarboro A's and the Red Springs Red Robins, both minor league affiliates of the Philadelphia Athletics (AL). He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Charley retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a police officer with the Columbus Police Dept. Preceded in death by mother Muriel Voss. Survived by wife, Dianna; children, Laura Dodd, Victoria (Thomas) Strausbaugh, Jeffrey (Gail) Voss; sisters, Verna (Guy) DeVito, Florence (John) McCarty; brother-in-law, John Batchelor; numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Charley's memory to the Hospice facility of your choice.
