Gid Williamson

Williamson Gid Williamson, age 79, of Grove City, passed in to God's care on May 4, 2014. Gid loved the Lord. Born December 21, 1934 to the late Jay and Maggie (Waller) Williamson in Crum, WV. He married Martha McCorkle on March 28, 1969. It was from this union they had three children. Marsha (Michael) Taylor, Gid David (Annette) Williamson and Mary Beth (Jason) Sparks, all of Grove City. The twinkle in his eyes were his three grandbabies, who called him Paw Paw. They are Matthew and Michael Taylor and Olivia Grace Sparks. He is survived by his brothers, Grover (Kathryn) Williamson and Lelon "Huff" (Louise) Williamson. Also surviving loving sister-in-law, Mary (Toby) Borland; sister-in-law, Janet (Charles) Bullock brothers-in-law, Jerry McCorkle and Guy (Sue) McCorkle; numerous nieces' nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lacy, Jennings and Wayne Williamson, sisters Goldie Walker, Oretha Marcum and Dorothy Copley, beloved sister-in-law Linda Williamson. He was a member of Williams Road Freewill Baptist Church, and attended Central Baptist Church. He was a 32 degree Mason in the Masonic Order. He was the founder, owner and president of G. Williamson Maintenance Inc. Gid was a hard worker; he was a devoted husband, father and a loving Paw Paw.
