Gundling James I. Gundling, 84, of Lewis Center, Ohio, formerly of Worthington, Ohio, died October 29, 2013. Preceded in death by parents Ira and Helen (Ray) Gundling, brother and sister in law Frank and Beverly Gundling. Survived by wife of 56 years, Jacqueline (Sweeney); children, James (Lynda), John (Toni), Jennifer (Steven) Elliott, Michelle (Patrick) Laird, Mark and Matthew (Jennifer); grandchildren, Melissa, Amelia and James Gundling, Anne, Peter, Margaux, and Eliza Elliott, Mark, Daniel, Molly and Samuel Laird, James Gundling, David and Abigail Gundling, and Paige Lampman. Also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Gary and (Arlene) Gundling; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Chicago, Illinois, moved to Cleveland, Ohio as a young child. Cathedral Latin High School, Miami University, John Carroll University. Four years in Air Force, one year in Korea where he was awarded 3 bronze stars. Retired from The Atlantic Companies, regional claims manager. Long time member of Germania, Worthington VFW, St Peter Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services or Ohio Dominican University. Family will receive friends Friday, November 1 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. Worthington, OH (Just south of I-270). From 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smokey Row Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Fr. Mark F. Summers, Celebrant.
