Jean Lyon

LYON Jean (née Carlson) Lyon, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Laurels of Norworth. She was born in Saint Paul, MN, on March 13, 1922, to the late Hanphen Henry and Grace (née Williams) Carlson. She lived many years in Cambridge, Ohio, where she was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, and she moved to Columbus in 1991. She was a member of Crestview Presbyterian Church in Columbus. Over the years, Jean worked as a secretary for several places, but preferred to work for churches. She loved gardening and was a member of several garden clubs. She also enjoyed sewing, animals, and being involved in the activities of her children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Adelbert Conver Lyon and siblings Harriet Elizabeth, Laurence Stanley, and Marian Grace Carlson. Jean is survived by her children, John Conver (Kathryn) Lyon, Susan Jean (née Lyon) Jordet, and Sharon Christine (Dennis) Lyon-Paul; grandchildren, John David Lyon, Ellen Elizabeth Morell Lyon, Diana Celeste Lyon, and Sarah Conver Jordet; and great grandchildren, Andrew, Jesse, and Tristyn Lyon. A memorial service in honor of Jean will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N.
