JoAnne Cecile Marie Cook

COOK JoAnne Cecile Marie Cook went to be with her Lord December 13, 2012, after a long and fruitful life. JoAnne, the daughter of Albeo and Claire (Bellefleur) LaPointe, was born November 17, 1939, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick , Canada, eldest of four children. After graduating valedictorian of her high school class at the Ursuline's Convent in St. Leonard, she went on to St. Francis-Xavier University in Nova Scotia. Following this, she worked at Fraser Pulp and Paper Mill in Edmundston, New Brunswick, before going on to Fort Fairfield, Maine, where she worked as a medical secretary at the hospital. She married Michael Cook January 2, 1963. JoAnne was a remarkable woman. She had a great laugh that was Often contagious. Known for her generosity, she would dedicate herself fully to causes and work she believed in. JoAnne had a passion for music and dancing, and believed that all things should be done with excellence while maintaining a good sense of humor. Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, she is survived by her son, Thomas (Cheryl); grandchildren, Mitchell, Jessica, and Christopher; sisters, Jocelyne Tremblay and Colette Tessier (Claude); and brother, Robert LaPointe (Solange); as well as her many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville, Ohio, 43081, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. Although flowers are welcome, a donation in support of the Orphanage in Liberia, West Africa, would also honor JoAnne.
