Norma Jean Person

Person Norma Jean Person, 80, of Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born March 5, 1934 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio to the late Lindsey and Helen Mitchell. Ms. Person, who loved being surrounded by family and friends, was a fun loving, sassy, free-spirited woman whose spirit could light up a room. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands Don Goins, Eddie Sydner and Joe Person, a son Tony, four sisters Margaret Garnes, Martha Johnson, Catherine Towns, and Dorothy Walker and three brothers Lindsay, Charles and Wendell Mitchell. She is survived by her four children, Rebecca Goins, Donna (Reginald) Fowler, Tina (Duane) Ferrell and Jeffrey (Natevia) Sydner; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jay (Donna) Mitchell; and a sister, Leatrice (James) Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Family will receive friends for a visitation March 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at CALIMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, 3700 Refugee Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43232, followed by a homegoing celebration at 2 p.m. In memory of Norma J. Person, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to God's Heavenly Kitchen at Triumphant Christian Center, 904 Thomas Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43232.
