MacKenzie-Messmer Alberta MacKenzie Messmer, 94, of Pickerington, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013. Lived most of her life in Westerville. Graduate of Otterbein College and Western Reserve University. Worked at Otterbein Library as reference librarian and later as director for 33 years. Preceded in death by husbands Arthur MacKenzie and Charles Messmer and son James MacKenzie. Survived by daughters, Carol (Gary) Kruger, Barbara (Yale) Campbell, Marilyn (Edgar) Vilums; and daughter-in-law, Pei Hsiu MacKenzie; grandchildren, Stacy (Kellie) Kruger, Erik Kruger, Curt (Libbie) Campbell, Ryan (Melissa) Campbell, Alayna (Ty) Pierce, Michelle (Shawn) Foster, Michael MacKenzie, Scott Vilums, and Kevin (Stacey) Vilums; eight great grandchildren. Also survived by Charles Messmer's children, Marilyn Burns, Charles Messmer, Jr., John Messmer, Jim Messmer, and Kathie Althoff. Special thanks to the staff at Abbington of Pickerington. Memorial service at 1 p.m. followed by reception on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Church of the Master United Methodist Church, corner of Grove and Main Streets, Westerville, Ohio.
